Holland Christian Athletics, in conjunction with the MHSAA and the OAA, KLAA and CHSL athletic conferences, is supporting the community of Oxford following the tragic loss of four high school students and serious injuries to three others on November 30. Schools across the state of Michigan are involved in a collective effort on February 4th to show our support for one of our own MHSAA member schools. The first 500 spectators for our February 4th varsity basketball games vs. Coopersville at the Holland Civic Center will receive a free Maroons T-shirt that includes an “Oxford Strong” logo as a sign of support. A special thank you to LVZ Financial Planning and Crown Motors for their partnership in this initiative. Below are two additional ways for you to consider showing support.
The “Oxford High School Survivors Fund” was established in conjunction with the “National Compassion Fund” to accept donations to benefit those most directly impacted by the shooting, including the surviving family members of the students killed, those who were wounded, and those who were present and suffered psychological trauma. You are invited to display your personal support for the Oxford Community by making a donation of any amount. Detailed information about the fund and simple ways to donate can be found at the following link: oxfordcommunityvictimsfund.com.
The MHSAA partnered with its official merchandise vendor, E.A. Graphics, to sell apparel in support of the Oxford Community to be worn specifically during the month of February. Individual orders can be purchased directly from E.A. Graphics with the price of apparel, after costs, being donated to the “Oxford High School Survivors Fund”. T-shirts, for example, cost $20, with $16.20 donated from each sale. Use the following link to purchase your “Oxford Strong” apparel: supportoxfordstrong.com
