Spring is in the air and the sunshine is a visual reminder of the goodness and joy that comes with a new season. I really love spring because it tells me that summer is coming and the promise of the warmth of summer is my favorite. In the midst of the spring though, I am not averse to the yucky brown snow that is lingering or the muddy shoes that I start to see walking the halls. In the same way, I am amazed and in awe of the growth that we see  this time of year in our students. It doesn’t come without it’s tough conversations or messy muddy moments  but we know that this too shall pass. We have learned together, laughed together, celebrated and grown together. My prayer is that we continue to grow together in love, hope, faith and joy as we have done so far this year. Thank you for continuing this journey with us and for working alongside us in growing your child and for making Pine Ridge a wonderful and joyous place to learn and grow together.

In continued partnership with you,
Dinah

3rd-5th Girls Running Club

We are still hoping to create a girls’ running team this spring! We could not find coaches for a GOTR (Girls on the Run) team. Like TTQ, this running club will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:30. There will be more information coming, but if you have questions please feel free to email PR office or call the office at 616.820.3505.

Hearing & Vision Screening

Screening for Hearing (grade 4) and Vision (grades 3 and 5) will take place March 8 and 9 at Pine Ridge. If your child is in 3rd or 5th grade and wears glasses please remind them to wear their glasses on those days. If for any reason you do not wish to have your child screened, please email the office

From Parent Board

Parent-teacher conferences are coming up, and we would love to bless our teachers with a meal! Please sign up here to help prepare a delicious taco meal for Monday, March 28.

Parent Board is looking ahead to next year! Would you like to be part of our team? Help us plan/execute Walkathon, show teachers our appreciation throughout the year, and plan some fun events! Please email Kelli Kruithof if you’d like to hear more.

Tulip Time

Please remember we have two sections for students to choose from to march in this year’s Tulip Time parade! Your student may be in the “tulip” section or the “Dutch Heritage” section. In order to make sure we have the correct props for all students, please fill out the Tulip Time Section Choice Survey as soon as possible!

Direct Your Dollars (Spartan Stores)

Please join us in earning money for our school by turning in grocery receipts each time you shop at a Spartan Nash store. In our area, if you shop at Family Fare or D&W stores and by turning in original grocery receipts to reach the $1,500 school goal, we will earn a $1,000 check from Spartan Nash toward a “Wish List” item for our school.
