We have turned a corner in our 2021-22 school year! Together we have done ice cream socials, fall and spring conferences, a month of thanksgiving, Christmas concerts, 100 days of school, Wacky Wednesdays, and now we can feel the freshness of spring upon us. I have a renewed energy knowing that as we finish out the year, we continue to do it rooted in Christ and Christ alone. I look forward to what the rest of this school year brings, and I hope you continue to join with me in prayer for all that we do as partners for our students here at Pine Ridge.

In continued partnership with you,

Dinah

Announcements

Market Day

Our 4th graders will be putting on Market Day on April 27. Our 3rd and 5th grade students will be invited to come and shop that day. Please feel free to send your child with money and a bag to purchase items with that day. We do ask to limit the total to $5 per student to spend.

Spring Program

Are you ready for a musical treat? Set aside the evening of April 21 for the Elementary Spring Program. This program, which includes all three elementary campuses, will be held at Central Wesleyan at 7 pm.

Grandparents & Grandfriends Day

Grandparents & Grandfriends Day is back! Spread the news to grandparents and grandfriends that Pine Ridge will be hosting Grandparents and Grandfriends Day on April 22 from 10-11 am. Our students will soon be working on some fun things to share with grandparents and grandfriends on that morning. We can’t wait!

Thank You

Thank you to all the parents who came to parent teacher conferences. We are so happy to partner with you and share all your student has learned so far this year. And, a very special thank you to the Parent Board and those parents who supplied our teachers with dinner during conferences. It was so appreciated!

Tulip Time

Please remember we have two sections for students to choose from to march in this year’s Tulip Time parade! Your student may be in the “tulip” section or the “Dutch Heritage” section. In order to make sure we have the correct props for all students, please fill out the Tulip Time Section Choice Survey as soon as possible! Also, please make sure you note your calendar that we have HALF DAYS on both Wednesday and Thursday, May 11 and 12. Details for the parade pickup for our 3rd and 4th grade students will be coming soon.

Tuition Grant Application

The Tuition Grant online application process for the 2022-23 school year began February 1. The Facts Application is available here. If you have questions, please email our tuition accounts manager, Terry VanDerKolk, or call her at 616.820.2807.

Join Parent Team

We have a whole host of ways for parents to help out, plug into the school community, and join our team! South Side/Pine Ridge have their own Parent Team, a volunteer group of dedicated parents that support the teachers and staff, raise money beyond the budgetary allowances for extra educational materials and equipment, and enfold new families into our school family. We’re looking for more new members and helping hands next year to help us plan/execute Walkathon, show teachers our appreciation throughout the year, and plan some fun events! If you are interested in getting more involved with school and building new relationships with the Holland Christian family in this way, please email Kelli for more info!

Direct Your Dollars (Spartan Stores)

Please join us in earning money for our school by turning in grocery receipts each time you shop at a Spartan Nash store. In our area, if you shop at Family Fare or D&W stores and turn in original grocery receipts to reach the $1,500 school goal, we will earn a $1,000 check from Spartan Nash toward a “Wish List” item for our school.
