Spring has sprung and we are excited to be greeted with the sunshine, birds chirping and more time to be outside and enjoy God’s creation. I have been thrilled to see and interact with students as they start to dig into what it means to be a creation keeper, beauty creator and an image reflector of Christ through our outdoor learning. It has been fun to see all the growth and learning that is taking place at Pine Ridge. As we finish up our last few weeks I want to thank you for your commitment to your child’s education as we have partnered together to help them each flourish this year. I look forward to seeing most of you as we embark on our “end of the year” activities, our last chapel, 5th grade graduation and our field day.
Blessings on a wonderful spring season,
Tulip Time ’23
On Thursday, May 12, our 3rd-4th graders will participate in the Tulip Time Kinderparade. We will have a normal school schedule in the morning; 5th graders not helping with the parade will be dismissed at 11:30am. 3rd and 4th graders will remain at school, until we load the buses to head to the parade route. They will eat lunch at school before heading to the parade. There will be no hot lunch.
An information sheet and pick up slip was sent home with your child on April 21. Please return this slip to your child’s teacher ASAP if you have not done so already, and please keep an eye on your email the week of Tulip Time (May 8-12) for correspondence about parade reminders.
Thank you grandparents and friends for coming to visit on April 20. We loved having you come see our school and share the afternoon with you!
Tuition Grant Application
The Tuition Grant online application process for the 23-24 school year began February 1. The Facts Application is available on the FACTS website. If you have questions, please email our tuition accounts manager, Terry VanDerKolk, or call her at 616.820.2807.
We have a whole host of ways for parents to help out, plug into the school community, and join our team! South Side/Pine Ridge have their own Parent Team, a volunteer group of dedicated parents that support the teachers and staff, raise money beyond the budgetary allowances for extra educational materials and equipment, and enfold new families into our school family.
We’re looking for more new members and helping hands next year! If you are interested in getting more involved with school and building new relationships with the Holland Christian family in this way, please email Tami Schippers or Emily Baker. You can also come and see what we’re all about by joining our next meeting on Friday, May 19 at 8:30am in South Side’s lounge.
May Staff Appreciation
Parent Board is looking for donations of snacks and drinks to add to our refreshment cart for our teacher appreciation in May! If you’d be willing to donate any snack or drink items for our staff, please drop them off at the office.
