New Kids On Our Block!
One of the greatest joys of planning learning experiences for our children is witnessing their awe and wonder at the beauty God reveals throughout creation! We can’t WAIT to introduce ranch life to your child’s learning experiences this month! On November 10 you’re invited to celebrate our Hootenanny with us (the corporate world would better know this as a ribbon cutting ceremony) as we thank our community in opening our barn! If the weather cooperates, we’ll gather around the barn at 2:30 to kick up some fun and welcome our goats, Rosie and Parker, to their new home! Bring your own lawn chair and join us if you’re able!

Share In The Farming Fun
We’re so grateful to partner with you in loving your child and providing intentional experiences to grow every aspect of their development: spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual. Raising animals affords the whole child MANY benefits! Take a peek at this short article which scratches the surface in outlining the benefits for our child. Our staff has been researching and dreaming of innovative ways your child will be impacted by life in our mini-ranch! We’re so grateful to our generous community for supporting this dream and making it a reality! Your child will be trained in caring for our furry friends (we’ll call this doing the barn chores). If your family would like to participate in the barn chores during the evening and weekend, you’re invited to sign up to be a ‘farmer for a week’. I’ll send you our training video but truly this will be a leadership opportunity for your child to teach your family how to care for the animals and keep the chores tended to in the evening and weekend. If you’d like to sign up, the basic need is checking in on the animals on Saturday and even on Sunday to ensure their fed, have clean water and clean bedding. Any evening chores is a bonus! Once we have a rhythm with Rosie and Parker, we’ll add our three egg-laying hens!
If your family would like to sign up to be a farmer for a week we’d love to have you join us! (and, no worries, you will receive a simple training video from me prior to your chores!).
Speaking of Partnership
We value your insight and feedback. In an effort to create a home-away-from-away for every child and every family, we are seeking input from you. If you’re willing to complete the survey below, we will use your feedback to both celebrate life at Rose Park as well as identify growth areas and put action steps in place to better serve you and your family. This survey should take you 7-9 minutes. We would like to collate this data by November 11. Thank you for your feedback and honesty.
THANK YOU!!
Wow! We shared a FANTASTIC morning with our Grandparents and Grand friends. What a treat to show our important guests our classrooms, and share a time of worship together. We are grateful for all the helping hands who helped the morning go smoothly. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and caring for not only our students and teachers, but for our Grandparents as well! A BIG thank you to Biggby and Mark Dykema for providing coffee for our guests. We are grateful for your generosity!
Parent-Teacher Conferences Thank you!
Thank you for the delicious food you provided for our teachers during parent teacher conference week. We are grateful for all the ways you support and bless our teachers!
Hearing and Vision Screening
Early detection and intervention of hearing and vision issues can help children succeed in school. The Ottawa County Department of Public Health’s Hearing and Vision Team will be providing hearing and vision screening at Rose Park on December 1st and 2nd. On Thursday December 1st our K, 2nd, and 4th graders will have their hearing screened. On Friday December 2, our 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders will have their vision screened. If you would like to opt your child out of this screening, please notify us via email or a note prior to the screening day. You may email Carla cchase@hollandchristian.org or Laura lrotman@hollandchristian.org
Substitute Need
Help needed!! Rose Park has a handful of WONDERFUL individuals who faithfully jump in and help us fill in for teachers and aides who need to be absent from the classroom. We need to add to this group! If you have even a spark of interest in subbing in a class room at Rose Park, or you know of someone who may be interested, please reach out and email Carla or email Laura in the office 616.820.4055. Subbing hours can range from a few hours, to a full day form 8am-3:15pm. If it is your preference to sub only at Rose Park, we can make that happen! A teaching certificate is NOT required.
Matilda
HCHS’s Theatre Department is proud to present Matilda for the Fall Musical this year! Based on the book by Roald Dahl, Matilda is the inspiring story of a girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, psychokinetic powers, and an extraordinary imagination who dreams of a better life. You won’t want to miss this incredibly fun musical. Performances are November 17-19 at 7 pm. Due to licensing restrictions we are unable to livestream this Fall’s production, but you can get your in-person tickets on the Theatre Page.
