I graduated with honors from Calvin College with a BA in history education and in social studies education and later a masters in education, a literacy degree. While at Calvin, I met my talented wife, Holly, who is a social worker working with refugee and immigrant populations. We have two young children and live in Holland.

I have been teaching at Holland Christian since 2013, living into my passion for Christian education and history. I deeply resonate with HC’s mission statement and appreciate HC’s commitment to engaging the world through a relevant, Reformed lens. No matter who our students are, we walk with them, support them, and teach them as they wrestle with identity and calling. We pursue God’s Kingdom and its truth and justice together in humility and in a spirit of harmony.
