After graduating from Hope College, I began my career as a teacher at a public school in Nebraska and then a Christian school in Miami, Florida. I returned to West Michigan to work at Prince Corporation and spent 20 years with that organization, serving as an Operations Manager and its Vice President of Corporate Quality. Upon leaving Prince Corporation I then spent two years as President at JR Automation before joining Holland Christian to lead operations. I worked as Director of Operations at the school from 1999-2006 and then came back to serve as Board President from 2019-2022. I also worked for 14 years at Fleetwood Group as VP of Sales and then as VP of Operations. My wife, Joyce, and I raised 3 kids, Jennifer, Kimberly, and Kyle who all attended and graduated from Holland Christian. We so loved the fact that our children were being taught in a Christian environment learning about God and life from their teachers here consistent with what they were learning at home. We now have 8 grandchildren, four of whom live in Holland and are students here at Holland Christian--one in Middle School, and 3 in Forest School. We count that a tremendous blessing! I am excited to work with the outstanding professional staff this year in this role as Interim Head of Schools and will do my best to make sure the “table is set” for the next Head of Schools.
