My first students were my dolls. I earned a BA in Elementary Education from Roberts Wesleyan, moved to West MI and married Jan-Harm in 2003. I taught and earned a Masters in Reading from GVSU. In 2010 God blessed us with Josiah and led us to HC2 his kindergarten year. We love the focus of transforming the world for Jesus. I began substitute teaching in 2022, and in 2026 I joined the Forest School team. Having time to explore and teach in God’s creation while instilling that loving and glorifying God is the most important thing is a great honor! I desire to see my students become more like who God uniquely created them to be each day! Some of my favorite outdoor adventures are walks along Lake MI and kayaking. Our family attends Calvary Baptist Church and we explore as many national parks as we can!
