Spanish Immersion Teacher

After graduating from Calvin College in 2009 with a K-12 Spanish and Secondary English degree, I taught ESL in Mexico for four years. While in Mexico, I also completed a Master's in TESOL through Biola University. In 2013, I moved to Costa Rica, where I taught high school English literature to Costa Rican students for six years. Living and working abroad profoundly shaped who I am today and the ways in which I see God at work in the world, and is at the heart of why I am passionate about language learning. My desire is to help ignite that same passion for culture and language in my students. When I'm not teaching, you can generally find me reading, doing puzzles, or enjoying a cup of Costa Rican coffee with my husband, Javier, and our three young children.
