I earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Calvin College and an M.A. in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University. I taught for seven years in Haiti and the Grand Rapids, Michigan area before moving to Holland. Since 2011, I have served at Holland Christian as an instructional assistant, Title I reading and math interventionist, and elementary teacher.

My husband, Dan, and I have three grown children. We enjoy biking, hiking, and traveling.

As a teacher, my goal is to build a caring and flourishing community of learners who respect one another and work through challenges together. I am especially excited about creating cross-curricular opportunities that invite students to use knowledge and skills to practice their faith and further God’s Kingdom in meaningful ways.
