I have taught Spanish at HC since graduating in 1994 from Calvin College. In 1999, after studying three summers in Morelia, Mexico, I completed a MATL degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to spending numerous summers in Latin America, my family and I have lived a year in Morelia, Mexico and a year in Quepos, Costa Rica. So much of who I am as a person and Christ follower has been shaped by these experiences. I love being able to share with my students how my life, faith walk and worldview have been enriched because of being able to speak more than one language. It's a joy and honor to help students grow their bilingual skills. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing pickleball, traveling with my husband, George, and hanging out with our adult children.
