I have taught Spanish at HC since graduating in 1994 from Calvin College. In 1999, after studying three summers in Morelia, Mexico, I completed a MATL degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to spending numerous summers in Latin America, my family and I have lived a year in Morelia, Mexico and a year in Quepos, Costa Rica. So much of who I am as a person and Christ follower has been shaped by these experiences. I love being able to share with my students how much my life has been enriched and my worldview expanded because of being able to speak more than one language. My husband and I strongly believe in the importance of world language study for our own children too! Our three kids graduated from Zeeland Christian's Spanish Immersion program before coming to HCHS.
