This fall HCHS is producing the brand new musical, Pride & Prejudice. Based on the beloved novel by Jane Austen, this musical covers the adventures of the five Bennet daughters, especially clever and headstrong Elizabeth. In Regency England, where women are not allowed to own property or pursue a career, the only hope of a solid future lies in marrying well. So when charming, kind, and very wealthy Mr. Bingley moves to the Bennet’s small country village and falls in love with the eldest Bennet daughter, Jane, Elizabeth is delighted: Jane has a chance at true love, and Bingley’s wealth will make sure that her sister never lives in fear of poverty. But with the charming Mr. Bingley comes his friend Mr. Darcy, an arrogant, awkward snob who views everyone—including the Bennets—with disdain. As Bingley and Jane’s romance keeps pulling them into each other’s orbits, Elizabeth and Darcy find themselves sparring over their idea of love, freedom and happiness—and, to their horror and against their better judgement—beginning to fall in love with each other.

This musical was written in 2023, and we are officially the first production ever in the state of Michigan! We will have four shows: November 20, 21, and 22 @ 7pm, and November 22 @ 2pm. Tickets are $10. We hope to see you and the whole family there!
