The Holland Christian High School Choirs and Orchestra invite you to their annual Oratorio Concert as they perform Vivaldi’s Gloria–a favorite!–on Friday, April 17 at 7:30pm at West Ottawa High School Performing Arts Center (3685 Butternut Dr, Holland, MI 49424). Admission is free for this oratorio concert featuring over 125 talented HCHS musicians in two orchestras and four choirs!
Despite its current popularity, Vivaldi’s Gloria Oratorio was forgotten for over 200 years and was rediscovered in the 1920s. He wrote it in the early 1700s for the Pio Ospendale della Pieta, an orphanage for girls well known at the time for their talented choir and orchestra.
