I graduated with honors from Calvin College with a BA in History Education and in Social Studies Education and later a Masters in Education: Literacy degree. While at Calvin, I nurtured a love for history, for teaching students to use history to bring Jesus and justice to the world, and for my wonderful wife, Holly, who is a social worker who works with refugee and immigrant populations.

I love teaching at Holland Christian where I can pursue my passion for Christian education. We are serious about transforming the world for Jesus Christ; therefore, we seek to be relevant. No matter who the students are sitting in our classrooms, we walk with them, support them, and teach them as they wrestle with identity and calling. We pursue God’s truth together in humility and in a spirit of harmony.
