I have both an undergraduate and a Master's in Literacy degree from Calvin College. My teaching career began at Timothy Christian Middle School, and I have taught at Holland Christian Middle School since 2015. My husband, Eric, and I have three children, and we enjoy biking and hiking together as a family. My favorite hobby is learning about and tending to our variety of houseplants. One of my favorite aspects of teaching ELA is exploring stories with students, discovering all the information and life lessons that books have to offer. Some of the best novels are written with middle schoolers in mind, and we get to dive into them together. What a joy to do all this in the nurturing Christ centered community of Holland Christian!
