I graduated from Calvin College in 1985 with a degree in Elementary Education and then received my M.A. in reading from Western Michigan University. After four years of teaching in Christian schools in Pittsburgh, PA and northern Michigan, I joined the Holland Christian community in 1990.

I am a member of LaGrave Christian Reformed Church and enjoy reading, traveling, and hiking with my dog.

My prayer for each of my students is that they will grow academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually during the year, and that as they grow they will recognize that this world and everything in it belongs to God, and that they will begin to see how God can use them to impact the world for Him.
