I grew up in Zeeland and graduated HCHS in '02. Social work degrees from Calvin ‘07 and GVSU ‘13 allowed me to serve refugees from around the world, as well as students in area schools. The past five years at Zeeland Christian especially helped me clarify why I love working with students and I am excited to use what I’ve learned in my new role with HC. I believe in the immediate and eternal impact of being available to, and developing relationships with, students as they navigate the ups and downs of school. I aspire to make them feel seen, known, and appreciated, and work to draw their attention to our shared identity as children of God. Along with my wife, Jacquie, and our two kids, Matthew and Hannah, I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, reading, drawing, and spending time at Big Star Lake.
