I received my B.A. from Calvin and my Master’s from Concordia. I taught at SDCH in Smithville, Ontario and Timothy Christian in Illinois before coming to HC. I have been blessed to be married to Karen Strikwerda. She enjoys teaching kindergarten at South Side. We have been blessed to raise three incredible children Mark, Emily and Sarah, and now have one grandson named Jenson. My hobbies include mountain biking, ice hockey, cross country skiing, and camping. I am honored to be the principal of HCMS. I love serving and working alongside the students, staff and the parents. Our goal as a school is to care for your students social-emotionally, challenge them academically, and help them grow spiritually. My goal is to have a school where we value each child for who they are as they are each “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14
