A graduate of Jenison Christian and Jenison High School and the youngest of five older brothers, I have worked a huge variety of jobs ever since I was 10 years old and delivering newpapers on my bike. Since then I have worked as gas station attendant and mechanic; truck, dump truck, and cement truck mechanic and driver; and underground construction crew fitting sewer and water pipes underground. For the last 20 years or so, I ran my own handyman business, which lead into managing  maintenance for Macatawa Bank, and eventually as Facilities, Grounds, and Maintenance Director at Holland Public Schools. My wife, Nicole, and I live in Jenison and attend Bauer Christian Reformed Church, while our son, Charlie, a Unity Christian grad, is currently pursuing missions and public service. In my spare time I love fishing and hunting, from Lake Erie, to our annual family hunting camp in the UP. I enjoy working at Holland Christian because everybody is friendly, and the atmosphere here is energizing.
