Living Stones – Betsy DeVos
May 12 @ 5:45 pm - 9:00 pm
$100The HCS Living Stones Dinner & Fundraiser is a little bit social, a little bit spiritual, and a little bit of fundraising for our Holland Christian Tuition Grant Fund. The night starts with hors d’oeuvres at 5:45pm, a scrumptious catered dinner by Martha’s Catering at 6:30, and concludes at 7:30 when we gather in the High School Auditorium to hear our keynote speaker. This year’s speaker is the Honorable Betsy DeVos:
Betsy DeVos is an innovator, a disruptor, and a tireless champion for freedom —particularly education freedom for students of all ages.
As the 11th U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy drove transformative reforms, including creation of the federal school choice tax credit, restoring due process and sanity to Title IX, expanding innovative options and transparency in higher education, and championing school choice policies that helped fuel a nationwide movement. Her advocacy laid the groundwork for education freedom to become law in more than two-thirds of the states, including the rapid expansion of universal school choice programs to a dozen states.
She is currently Chairman of the Manhattan Institute, a leading think tank dedicated to keeping America and its great cities prosperous, safe, and free. An accomplished business and philanthropic leader, Betsy previously chaired The Windquest Group, the American Federation for Children, the Philanthropy Roundtable, and the Michigan Republican Party.
Married to entrepreneur and philanthropist Dick DeVos, together they have four children and thirteen grandchildren.
