The HCS Living Stones Dinner & Fundraiser on Tuesday, April 19, 6pm at HCHS Main Street is a little bit social, a little bit spiritual, and a little bit of fundraising for our Holland Christian Tuition Grant Fund. After a scrumptious meal, catered this year by Gilmore Catering, we’ll gather in the auditorium to hear Dave Drevecky share his story of finding hope, courage, and perseverance in the midst of dark and overwhelming uncertainty: In 1988, he was at the top of his game as a baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, when his opening day victory over the Dodgers was overshadowed that fall by the discovery of cancer and removal of half the deltoid muscle in his pitching arm. His comeback a year later defied all medical pronouncements–only to fall to the pitching mound again, and discover the cancer had returned.

“The journey through pain and suffering moved us into a place where we began to go deeper with God,” Dave said. Little did he know that the loss of both his childhood dream and his arm would become a platform to share hope around the world. You can read more about him at DaveDravecky.com, and we can’t wait to join with you in person this year! (We turned in our numbers list to our caterers, so are no longer to receive any more reservations.)
