Rose Park Families,
As we begin another month of learning and growing together, I’m excited to share another of our discipleship practices with you: Word Rooted.
Being Word Rooted means growing in God’s Word and allowing it to guide how we learn, love, and live each day. At Rose Park, we are helping students discover the beauty of God’s big story and understand how they are part of it. Through reading Scripture, learning together, and talking about how God’s Word applies to our lives, students are growing in their understanding of who God is and how much He loves them.
I see this practice come to life so often as we sing together in chapel. Mrs. Rietman thoughtfully selects songs, both new and familiar, that help our students learn and remember God’s Word. As we sing these songs together, we are hiding Scripture in our hearts, allowing its truths to take root in us over time. What a joy it is to grow in God’s Word together!

Student Life & Discipleship
In September we focused on our discipleship practice of community growing. We spent time talking about how we are better together in community with one another! When we speak kindly, include others, and go out of our way to do small acts of kindness we show God’s love to our neighbors. We will celebrate students who do a great job of living into our monthly discipleship practice by giving them a golden ticket, and having a celebratory golden lunch together very soon! In October we will focus on wisdom seeking. We will discuss what it means to be people who seek God in all areas of our lives.
Walk-a-thon Thank You!
A big shoutout to our incredible Parent Board for all the time and effort they put into making this year’s Walkathon such a wonderful success! It was such a joy to watch our kids out on the field, running, skipping, and enjoying time together. To our parents, thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and the many ways you support your child’s education at Rose Park. We are truly thankful to God for blessing us with such a special and supportive community!
Visitor & Volunteer Clearance
If you will be in and/or around Rose Park this year, we ask that you register in our new Guest Management Service. Doing this ahead of time will prevent delays as you are on your way to the classroom, field trips, etc!
Hispanic Heritage Month
From September 15 to October 15, we’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Rose Park! Our Spanish Immersion classes are helping lead the way by creating a prayer chain with their grade-level friends. Together, students are thanking God for the Spanish-speaking countries of the world and lifting them up in prayer. Be sure to ask your child about this special activity and the countries they’ve been praying for!
Grandparents & Grandfriend’s Day
Grandparents & grandfriends are invited to join us at Rose Park on the morning of Thursday, October 1! We’ll celebrate together in worship and in our classroom communities. We give thanks to God for the gift of grandparents and grandfriends! Please check your classroom teacher blog for detailed times for the program and classroom visits!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Thursday, October 8 from 4-8pm and Monday, October 12 from 4-8pm. This is a great time to connect with your child’s teacher and discover how the year has begun for your child. Because these conferences are taking place earlier in our school calendar, sessions will be slightly shorter and primarily focused on your child’s social and emotional transition into the year, to lay the groundwork for a year of spiritual and academic growth. This initial check-in is a wonderful opportunity to partner together early on to ensure your student feels supported, connected, and ready for a great year ahead.
Welcome Walk
We’re excited to invite all current Holland Christian Preschool, Pre-K, and Young 5s families from every campus to our Welcome Walk! This open-house-style experience is designed specifically for current families as they begin thinking about enrollment for next school year. Calling all third grade families
Join the Holland Christian Third-Grade Tin Can Community and help your kids spend more ti 
me building the real-life confidence, independence, and connections that childhood is meant to be all about! With support from the DeVos Family Foundation, a Tin Can phone will be provided to each interested third-grade household at no cost. Place your order for a tin can phone by October 16. We can’t wait to hear our kids calling each other!
