I believe that sports allow us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. When you have to rely on the work, effort and camaraderie of your team to have success, you find out so much about yourself. I believe that being ultimately selfless allows a player to grow in so many ways. Having a common goal with your teammates is the ultimate selfless action–working as one, putting yourself second to the needs of others and being a part of a team all while “Working for the Lord” is one of the most rewarding opportunities a student athlete can have!

I believe the game of basketball teaches many valuable life lessons such as hard work, commitment, teamwork, and dealing with adversity. Being able to coach at Holland Christian allows me to share how God can use these life lessons in the game of basketball to help shape Holland Christian players into becoming more like Jesus.

Getting the opportunity to coach at Holland Christian is a privilege for me as the school has made a great impact on my life during my time attending and competing in sports. Coaching allows me to further God’s kingdom with my own personal skill set. Some of my favorite things are watching a team grow together, building relationships with student-athletes, and seeing players develop Christ-like traits. Excited for this season!
