I believe that sports allow us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. When you have to rely on the work, effort and camaraderie of your team to have success, you find out so much about yourself. I believe that being ultimately selfless allows a player to grow in so many ways. Having a common goal with your teammates is the ultimate selfless action–Holland Christian basketball allows us to use the gifts God has given us to further His kingdom and be a light to His world!

Basketball has been a passion of mine for my entire life and I love teaching the game. It gives me such joy watching kids improve their skills to the point where they love it too. To be able to do this at my alma mater is truly a blessing. It is the perfect place to show kids how they can honor their Savior through playing basketball.

Being able to coach in a Christian school allows me the ability to teach them the game of basketball as well as what it means to be a Christian athlete. Nothing is better than showing other schools God’s grace through our sportsmanship and seeing how these young players grow as players and Christians.
