Dear Families,
As we bring this school year to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for the incredible support, prayers, kindness, and partnership you’ve shown throughout the year. It has truly been a joy to walk alongside your children as they’ve grown, learned, and blossomed in so many beautiful ways.
Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us and for the authentic friendships we’ve shared along the way. Your encouragement and involvement have made this year not just successful, but truly special.
As summer begins, we send our blessings your way. May these months be filled with laughter, rest, sunshine, and sweet moments that become treasured family memories. Whether you’re exploring new places or simply enjoying time at home together, we pray your days are filled with joy and connection.
Yours in Christ’s service,
Miska

Class Lists for 26-27
The 26-27 class lists will be available and sent out via email the beginning of July.
Welcome Mrs. Wolters!
We are celebrating with Mrs. Sadie Smith at the birth of her sweet son! Mrs. Smith will be returning to teach second grade next year on a part-time basis. She will be job sharing days with Mrs. Mary Wolters. Mrs. Wolters taught and loved our second graders during Mrs. Smith’s maternity leave and we just can’t say good-bye. I’m thrilled to introduce Mrs. Mary Wolters as our new Forest second grade teacher:

My name is Mary Wolters. I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York, where I developed a love for nature and the outdoors. I earned my degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Roberts Wesleyan College and later completed a Master’s in Reading from Grand Valley State University.
My husband, Jan-Harm, and I have been married since 2003, and we have a son, Josiah, who attends Holland Christian High School. Our family enjoys hiking, kayaking, board games, visiting national parks, and spending time along Lake Michigan with our black Lab, Lexi.
After teaching 5th grade and spending several years at home raising and homeschooling our son, I returned to education through substitute teaching, including at Holland Christian Schools. I feel grateful to be part of a community that points students to Jesus and encourages each child to grow into the person God created them to be.
26-27 Enrollment & Medical Paperwork
All students entering young 5s, kindergarten, and new transfers need to fill out and turn in a variety of paperwork by August 7, 2026:
Medication
Any prescription or OTC medication including inhalers and epipens needs a signed form from the doctor before the first day of school. Students may not be in possession of any medication at any time at school. Teachers will carry inhalers and/or epipens along with the appropriate medical forms while off campus. All other medications will remain in a secure location in the cabin or house.
Non-Medical Exemptions (Formerly Waivers) Information:
If your child is a new student coming to HC from a different school district (HC is IN-DISTRICT with HPS), your old non-medical exemption is invalid and you will need to schedule an appointment. If your child currently has a non-medical exemption and is returning to Holland Christian for the 26-27 school year and moving from:
- 3s/4s preschool to Young 5s: New non-medical exemption needed; please schedule an appointment
- 4s preschool to kindergarten or Young Fives: New non-medical exemption needed; schedule an appointment ASAP at your county health department.
- Young 5s to Kindergarten: Current non-medical exemption on file is good unless you have chosen to complete a vaccine series during the year that was waived on the non-medical exemption.
Summer Office Hours
- June 4: The office will be closed in the morning due to an off-site meeting
- June 5: The office will be open from 9am-2pm to assist parents.
- August 3: The office will reopen daily from 9am-3pm, and then resume regular office hours when school begins. There will be a few dates TBD for beginning of the school year all-staff off-site meetings, and those dates will be posted on the door once they become available.
