The weather is changing and we are starting to see the colors of fall all around us. It reminds me of why I live in Michigan, the beauty in change! I know that it is not always welcomed, this thing called Change. Yet I have come to love and embrace the fact that although we don’t always love change but it is necessary for our growth and in order to help us move forward. Just as the seasons come at just the right time, so does God’s gentle voice in our lives when we are looking for ways to grow in our walk with him. At Pine Ridge we are working hard to help students connect with their heavenly Father, whether that be through scripture reading, songs of praise, or journaling. We hope you join us as we dig deep into God’s Word and live out our faith in this new season. We are excited for what’s to come!
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found table outside the office at Pine Ridge is growing! If your student is missing something, please check it out.
Conferences: Thank you!
Thank you to each family that took the time to come for parent-teacher conferences. It was a great time to have a conversation about your student and how we can work together. We love watching our students thrive and partnering with you is one of the best ways to do it, so thank you!
A special thank you to those who helped provide a meal for our teachers/staff that Monday. It was greatly appreciated and delicious!
Please remember that we do have a 24-hour policy for any fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. For colds and coughs, please use your discretion as we know these things can linger.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Pine Ridge the first week of December! Please watch for an email with shopping and volunteer times later this month.
Picture Retakes Day
Pine Ridge picture retakes will be on November 1. Please make sure to send your student’s original picture packet with them.
Grandparents & Grandfriends Day – Thank you!
We LOVED having our Grandparents and Grandfriends visit for the day this month! It was a wonderful time of worship together and showing off the school we love.
We are excited to be starting year two of our P.R. expectations. If this is new to you, let me share that these come from a tiered system called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Last year a team of teachers and support from our ISD helped us figure out how to best communicate the expectations that school has to students and families. We came up with three expectations that students are taught how to live out in each of our common areas in our school, on the bus, and even off campus. We are always working to live in community with each other and part of that is having expectations that we all know, trust, and can refer to when needed. In line with the “PR” of Pine Ridge, we have 3 more “PR’s” that kids are taught and refer to throughout the year. They are:
- Practice Respect
- Practice Responsibility
- Practice Relationships.
These are woven throughout our discipleship practices as well as being a Christ follower at the center of it all. Ask your kiddo about these and the celebrations that we get to enjoy when we are all loving each other and loving God.
Thank you for working with us to keep the drop-off and pickup safe and efficient. Please remember:
- Enter/exit off of Graafschap Road
- No stopping in the circle at any time as it is a bus lane but also a fire lane!
- Pull ALL THE WAY up to the bike racks for both drop-off and pickup
