South Side Elementary

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

The first picture we have of God in the Bible is of a magnificent Creator. Creation is a favorite Bible story for many of our young students. God creates so many amazing things: the stars, the flowers, the octopus, the elephants. He takes the void and makes beauty. And then God creates people, uniquely in His image.

At South Side one of the ways we celebrate that image of God in each child is to acknowledge their creativity. Some students are skillful with their hands and can build things or draw things. Others are amazing storytellers and use words and actions to share their thoughts. Our teachers at South Side are excited to come alongside each child and to help them grow as a learner and creator. Like our God, we create beauty, and we do it to glorify Him and share his love with the world.

In a way, our school is like an Art Studio. God is at work as the ultimate potter (Isaiah 64:8), shaping each student into a beautiful masterpiece. Each teacher uses their gifts to creatively teach and challenge students in ways that connect with each student individually. Each student is expressing themself creatively daily to learn and grow and to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

South Side Schedule

On half days, preschool ends at 11:15am, and K-2 finish at 11:30am. You may contact the South Side office for a detailed version of your student's schedule.
