Dear HCHS Families,
Thank you for another incredible year of partnership in fulfilling our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to transform the world for Jesus Christ. It has been such a gift and privilege to witness the tremendous growth each of your children made in the classroom and on the court, field, and stage. God has continued to do amazing work in the hearts and minds of our students, and we are excited to see what He has in store for them whether they are advancing to the next grade, preparing for college, or stepping into new opportunities and callings.
This year’s theme has been “The Joy of the Lord,” rooted in Nehemiah 8:10: “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Throughout this school year, we have been reminded that true joy is not dependent on circumstances, achievements, or ease, but is found in the unchanging character and presence of God. We have seen students, staff, and families display this joy in countless ways through perseverance, encouragement, worship, and service to one another. Even in busy schedules, academic challenges, and the many demands of school life, God has faithfully strengthened our community through His joy.
As we move into the summer months, my prayer is that your families experience deep rest and renewal together. Summer provides a wonderful opportunity to slow down, spend intentional time together, and reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness over the past year. Whether through travel, time outdoors, worship, or simply moments of quiet with the Lord, may your family continue to grow in the deep and lasting joy that comes from walking closely with Him.
At this time of year, we also want to express our gratitude for the service of a deeply valued colleague who will not be returning to the high school next year. With grateful hearts, we say farewell to Mrs. Kelli VanEerden after 20 years of faithful service to HC as, most recently, our HS Administrative Assistant and Attendance Coordinator. Kelli has been a trusted and steady presence for students, families, teachers, and administrators alike, serving this community with wisdom, compassion, humility, and remarkable care. From supporting students through difficult moments to helping lead and care for the daily life of the school behind the scenes, her impact on Holland Christian High School has been both profound and lasting. We are deeply grateful for the countless ways she has strengthened and cared for this community over the years, and we pray God’s blessing over her as she begins this next chapter.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers throughout this school year. It is a blessing to partner with you in the lives of these students. May the Lord continue to fill your homes with His peace, strength, and joy throughout the summer season.
With thanks,
Miles Colago, HS Principal
